When a New York Couple Brought the Party to South Beach | Freehand Miami Wedding Photographer

Some couples just have that energy. Sara and Curt Clauss are two of those people, and their late January wedding at the Freehand Miami in South Beach was exactly the kind of night that reminds me why I love what I do.

From New York to South Beach

Sara and Curt are a New York couple through and through, but when it came time to celebrate their love, they chose the heart of South Beach as their backdrop. And honestly? It made complete sense. The Freehand Miami has this effortlessly cool, tropical energy that feels like a permanent vacation, and that was exactly the vibe they were going for.

When the Weather Has Other Plans

Sara and Curt made the trek down from New York to escape the winter cold, which makes it even funnier that their wedding weekend landed on one of the coldest weekends Miami had seen in a long time. The irony was not lost on anyone! But here’s the thing – it held up beautifully for the ceremony, and when the reception moved inside Rays Restaurant, something kind of magical happened. The indoor space took on this moody, intimate energy that honestly felt more them than any outdoor setup could have. Sometimes the universe just knows what it’s doing.

The Details

Disco balls. Everywhere. Gather & Bloom absolutely nailed the florals and decor, blending lush tropical elements with those gorgeous disco ball accents that made every corner of Rays feel like the most fun place on earth. Moody, tropical, and full of life – it was the perfect mix.

Sara’s gown from Bridal Reflections New York by Kim Kassas Couture was stunning, and Curt looked incredibly sharp in Suit Supply with Ralph Lauren shoes. Glam Squad kept Sara glowing all night long.
