Danae + Jonny | A Sedona Elopement in November

share /

As an occasional Sedona elopement photographer , I have to be honest with you — destination elopements will always, always be my favorite. And Danae and Jonny? They are exactly why. These two are not just clients to me. I have photographed them multiple times over the past year and somewhere along the way we just became friends. Gushing over books and travel stories. So when they asked me to fly out to Sedona and be there for their elopement, I said yes before they even finished the sentence.

November in Sedona is something else. The red rocks, the crisp air, the way the light hits everything in the late afternoon. We stayed together in an Airbnb, did mini hikes, explored the town, went to dinner to celebrate after. It wasn’t just a photography job. It was an experience we all shared together. That is the thing about elopements that I don’t think people fully understand until they’ve done one… it’s so intimate. So intentional. You are choosing exactly who you want there and exactly how you want your day to feel.

Destination elopements will always be my favorite. You’re not just showing up to photograph a moment — you’re living it with them.

Danae and Jonny wanted something simple and real. No big production, no timeline packed with events, just the two of them committing to each other in one of the most beautiful places in the country. And we got to do it surrounded by those iconic red rock formations with the most incredible golden light. I’m obsessed with every single frame from this trip.

Why I travel as a Sedona elopement photographer

There is something that happens when your photographer is fully present for your whole day — not just the ceremony. When we hiked together, laughed over dinner, and just hung out in the Airbnb, Danae and Jonny were completely relaxed by the time we picked up the camera. That ease shows up in every photo. You can feel it.

That is why I will always advocate for the full experience elopement over a quick two-hour shoot. The photos are better. The memories are richer. And honestly? It is just so much more fun for everyone involved.

If you are planning a Sedona elopement or any destination elopement and you want a Sedona elopement photographer who will actually be there with you for all of it — the hikes, the dinner, the quiet moments before the ceremony — that is exactly what I offer. Let’s talk. I already want to go back like yesterday!!!

Photographed in Sedona, Arizona. November 2025.

With the iconic red rock formations surrounding us — including time spent at Bell Rock State Park — the landscape felt grounding, expansive, and deeply symbolic of the kind of love Danae and Jonny share.
